NORTHBOUND BASSMASTERS PRESENT:

PURPOSE:
Our first purpose is to put on an annual tournament in hopes to promote the next generation of
bass anglers from the ages of 17 to 22 years of age.

The second is promoting the next generation of anglers and citizens with the opportunity to continue their  education to follow in the field or fields of conservation, water management, forestry, or any conservation field that will preserve, protect, or advance our sport as we know it.

We intend to work with colleges to set forth scholarship(s) for the next generation of angler, person or persons.

Any and all profit received through donations of sponsors, both on a national and local level, as well as through businesses, individuals, churches, the community, fund raisers, and all other donations made and approved by Northbound Bassmasters, will be placed in the Cory Landrum Scholarship Fund each and every year for the purpose
to promote all of the above and any expansion thereof.

To promote all national, local business, individual, church, community, fund raisers, and any other approved sponsorship that support our cause.

Will encourage any person or persons to get involved with teaching and passing on there passion for our sport and encourage all community, businesses, churches and social leaders to take active part in the development of our next generation of citizens.

Finally, we will continue our quest for the next generation by promoting all goals thru our own web site and thru the
Cory Landrum Next Generation Tournament Blog.

REASON:

CORY SHANE LANDRUM

Cory Landrum a member of Northbound Bassmasters lost his life on October 3, 2008 at a young age of nineteen.  His love and dedication to the sport of Bass fishing at such a young age lives in our minds and hearts. With that said, Cory and others his age where the reason that Northbound Bassmasters came to be. Dale Carpenter and David Henson Sr. back on October 2, 2004 formed Northbound Bassmasters to promote the next generation to our sport. Our goals are to teach the next generation and pass on all implications and fascists of conservation and store in them moral and ethical standards. We strongly believe that getting the next generation interested in bass fishing will not only help protect our sport but also help to steer our next generation in the right direction of life.

By design, eighty percent of the Northbound Bassmasters members are between the ages of seventeen and thirty-five.
We have made our officers, President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasure, and Club Tournament Weight Master from this eighty percent group. The other twenty percent are veteran bass fisherman
with twenty to thirty five years of tournament experience.

With all this being said, the death of Cory Landrum, by the hands of other youth have sparked in us to take our cause a step future and now not just have a club that promote the next generation and a memorial tournament but to continue with volunteers, sponsors, business organizations, educational institutions, religious organizations, municipalities, state and local agencies, along with anyone that has interest in educating our next generation of citizens and leaders.

The realm of what has taken place to this point is commitments both verbally and finically from professional fisherman, major tackle manufactures, national level and private businesses, educational institutions, Hotels, Religious organizations, tournament trail organizations, boat and motor manufactures, marine dealers, and individuals.

Now with the help of many, we are proud to say that in place is a scholarship committee to over see and continue in the name of our lost one The Cory Landrum Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Our first annual tournament will be held March 20, 2010 at Steele Creek Lodge in Satsuma, Alabama. The payback of entry fees collected will be 100%.  The winner will also receive free entry into the tournament the following year as well as his entry fee paid into the Fish N Fever Trail for the 2010 year.

Applications for a scholarship fund will go to the scholarship committee and decide on recipient(s) of scholarship(s).

Scholarship funds come from donations private, business, sponsorship and any organization approved
by Northbound Bassmasters and scholarship committee.

Recipient(s) must be between the ages of seventeen

and twenty-two years of age.
